Tips To Keep Your Computer Fast

1. You need a good antivirus software. Withough this, as you know, you computer is open to attacks from the millions of viruses out there! I suggest the NetCom3 is suggested above.
2. Get a Registry Cleaner. A registry cleaner is what cleans all the temporary files off of your computer. These are the cookies, AKA: the files that advertisers use to target you for advertisements, saved web addresses, saved passwords, ect...
3. Do not save passwords! If you save passwords you are pretty much inviting hackers to login to your secured areas such as your email or your bank accounts.
4. To turn off auto-complete. Open a web browser. Click Tools>Internet Options>Click the "Content Tab" at the top>Under 'Auto-Complete' click Settings and and uncheck all the boxes.
5. Turn off windows firewall. Go to Start Button>Control Panel>Security Center>and turn of Firewall.
6. Make your Desktop Background one plain color. Every time you minimize a window to your desktop the computer reloads the image. A complex image will drastically slow your computer.
7. Take off ALL startup programs but your antivirus. This will make your computer use up less RAM and therefore run faster for long periods of time.
8. Restart/Turn Off your computer occassionally. By doing this you will close all programs that you started since you last turned on your computer. It will also give your computer a rest. After all, people need a break, people need to sleep. Give that chance to your computer.

Just think of your computer as a human. People need a break from thinking, they get sick, and get better. And they die. Your computer will not last forever

--Google accelerator is a program that saves you time by speeding up your computer. I am not a technical person so I have no idea how it works. But it works. This is a definite if you want your internet to run at its FULL SPEED.
